21st Annual Export Alaska Celebration Luncheon

Conducted by the Export Council of Alaska and World Trade Center Alaska, this annual gathering is the major international trade event of the year. This year, nearly 400 persons joined us to celebrate the success of Alaskans that have excelled in various aspects of international business and relations.

Governor Sarah Palin announced the winners of the newly launched Governor's North Star Awards for International Excellence. Also, the Export Council awarded scholarships to student achievers pursuing a career in the international arena.	United States Senator Ted Stevens was the keynote speaker. As the ranking Minority Member of the Senate Commerce Committee, his remarks focused on Alaska's global trade picture, a subject with which he is keenly familiar.
